There is a lot of ways to improve Search engine rankings of your website for more and qualified traffic. It depends how you plan to work. I will describe my own experience and tips to improve Search engine rankings. 1. Interlink your website with Quality Anchor Text:
Well its a very common step (among SEO Professionals) to start SEO on any project. Interlink your pages with best relevant keywords available for the links. Just remember user while linking your pages to each other, its better to provide good user experience instead of mapping your links for spiders.
2. Use keywords in HTML title tags:
Its a most effected factor to improve your Search Engine Rankings in Google or in major search engines. But you will need to be very gentle while creating title tags. Do NOT stuff all your keywords in your title tag as you may lose your search engine rankings.
3. Maintaining Link Popularity:
Many SEO’s ignore link popularity but believe me you may never get better search engine rankings or long lasting rankings without link popularity. I always check link popularity before starting any project as i believe that all my efforts may go waste without good link profile. Link Popularity is based on links count which are incoming to your site from another resources!
4. Domain Age ( Google Loves Same age Guys LOL):
Yes its true google does love same age website as you can see that we normally use old website to gather information or shopping because we trust on their information and business. Google takes this factor into its account while ranking your website in the SERP’s. Unfortunately there is no way to speed up this process you have to hanging-in on the web to be old haha.
5. Keep old links alive:
Never ignore your old links keep them alive. I have experienced by deleting my old links it happens when we re-structure our website or when we re-write our old URL’s.( you may ask further in comments regarding this issue).
